Types of Mount:
  • Inside Mount: Shades fit inside the window frame.
  • Outside Mount: Shades hang outside the frame, covering the window and some surrounding wall.
Steps:
  1. Decide on your mount type: Inside mount looks sleek, outside mount blocks more light.
  2. Measure Width:
    • Inside Mount: Measure the inside of your window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Use the narrowest measurement.
    • Outside Mount: Decide how much overlap you want on each side, then add that to the window's width.
  3. Measure Height:
    • Inside Mount: Measure from the top of the window frame to the sill, left, middle, and right. Use the longest measurement.
    • Outside Mount: Decide how far past the window you want the shade to go, and measure accordingly.
